(April 21, 2022) URSeismo group will be presenting our recent research progress on marine seismology at the SSA Annual Meeting 2022 in Bellevue, WA. My first-authored poster, titled "Body Wave Imaging beneath Oceans, Glaciers & Sediments Using Tuned Dereverberation Filters", and another poster authored by Tolulope Olugboji, Siyu Xue, and me, titled "Looking for Love across the Hawaiian Swell", will be presented on April 22 (Friday). Ectronic version of the poster can be found under "Presentations" tab.
(Nov 30, 2021) I will be presenting my research on developing a new approach to identify sediment and water resonance in noisy seismic recordings, at the AGU Fall Meeting in December 2021, in New Orleans, LA. Please stop by my poster, titled "Amphibious Receiver Function Imaging of the Pacific Plate Using Tuned Dereverberation Filters" (DI15C). This poster session will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021, from 16:00 to 18:00, at Convention Center, Poster Hall D-F. The electronic version of the poster can be found under "Presentations" tab.
(August 25, 2021) - I have passed the written and oral qualifying exams and have been officially promoted to the status of Ph.D. candidate. My research proposal focuses on the structures of anomalous oceanic plates.
(May 4, 2021) - My first manucript as a Ph.D. student at the University of Rochester, co-authored with Dr. Tolulope Olugboji, has been accepted by JGR Solid Earth. This work highlights the signature and elimination of the "singing" effects of sediment that make the imaging of crust and mantle lithosphere challenging in submarine environments. See the paper online here.
(Apr 28, 2021) - I gave an invited talk on my recent paper on how to identify and eliminate the sediment reverberations on submarine receiver functions, on April 27, 2021, at the Institute of Earthquake Forecasting, China Earthquake Administration. Slides can be found under "Presentations" tab.
(Apr 14, 2021) - I will be presenting my work on how to design a dereverberation filter to suppress the resonance of sediments in submarine environments, and preliminary results of its application to seismic data from the AACSE experiment deployed in Alaska at the upcoming SSA Annual Meeting. The title of my poster is "Amphibious Receiver Function Imaging of the Pacific PlateUsing Tuned Dereverberation Filters"; the live zoom session will be held at 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. on April 20, 2021 Pacific Time.
